For years I've had some sort of fascination with pens. I've had a love for the written word. I've enjoyed reading, writing but not 'rithmetic. I have always liked fountain pen and had a few. Recently, I found the website FPN and there are actually more people like me! Some with vastly more interest and expertise in it than me. Heck, there's so much to pens and writing I never knew existed. This all sounded grand. Truly, it did. But, if you've ever seen my penmanship, you'd realize my dilemma. As much as I enjoy writing, I'm not too good at it. In fact, I'm quite awful. That is, until I met Kate Gladstone. She has been able to help me make major improvements in the legibility of my penmanship literally overnight. I have a long ways to go still, but the journey is so much fun. I'm like a school kid again practicing writing. Difference is; this time, I enjoy it. This book gets a lot of praise as well. I will have to get a copy myself.
Take a moment and turn off the computer (but wait until you've read my post). Find yourself a quiet spot. Get some paper (yes, they still make it); a comfortable pen and write your sweetheart a letter. Your child. Journal the day's thoughts. Not a to-do list, but thoughts. Make your mind work a little. Plan a project in detail, such as how you would design your ideal kitchen and the in-depth functionibility of each mechanism. Spend time in thought and in writing. Slow down your life, just for a moment. Reflect. Relax. Allow this simple exercise to be therapeutic. For you, for those around you.
